I love these Mulino pistachio cream cookies. I bought 8 bags of Mulino cookies, 4 pistachio, 4 plain). Three of the 8 bags had to be added to "ice cream toppings" storage. A gentle shake of the box revealed that many cookies had been reduced to crumbs.

I'd intended to include one bag each to 7 cousins & family friends (keeping 1 bag for us). This is a Christmas tradition where I mail faraway relatives a "Christmas care box". Including Baci chocolates, toys & stocking stuffers, etc. Now I need to locally buy 3 new bags of cookies (not enough time to mail order; as I mail these care boxes out of the area).

You easily could've prevented crumbling (at least to this extent) by packing more compactly. A thicker, stronger cardboard box would've helped a lot.

Your thin cardboard box was no match to the weight of 8 bags of cookies. There were big dents in the box, and one side was lower than the other, indicating it'd been crushed by a heavier box sitting on it.
